About me

Chelsey Stone

I excelled in two distinct careers before turning to my love of writing: elementary school teacher and public policy manager at an environmental nonprofit.

My background as an educator enables me to distill complex topics and technical information into comprehensible ideas for others to grapple with and learn from.

In the nonprofit sector I thrived under tight time constraints and managed multiple competing priorities, while honing my public policy writing, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills. I crafted compelling communications through factsheets, reports, and written and oral public comments for policy makers.

Through these careers and numerous passionate pursuits outside of work, I have lived and studied expertise in education, freshwater environmental challenges, wastewater management, literature and reading, Latin American literature and translation, travel and the outdoors, and running and fitness.

Recently married, so you will find work under my maiden name Grassfield and new last name Stone.
